Meet the BSSA Publisher

Lisa Getter spent 23 years at the Los Angeles Times and Miami Herald before joining UCG. She also served as a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University. Twice part of Pulitzer-Prize winning teams and twice a Pulitzer finalist, she has won numerous national awards for investigative reporting, including the Kennedy School of Government’s Goldsmith Prize and the American Bar Association’s Silver Gavel Certificate of Merit.

Aaron Steinberg is editor of The Safety & Soundness Report. He has been reporting on credit unions since 2007. An award-winning editor and writer, his expertise ranges from economics to music. He also serves as the chairman of the National Directors’ Convention.  Prior to financial reporting, Aaron worked a variety of jobs, including as an editor in academic publishing, a jazz booking agent and a jazz critic.  

Hugh Kennedy has 25 years of expertise in the financial services industry, with publishing and legal research experience spanning the public company, investment adviser, broker-dealer, credit union and banking industries.  As a senior-level manager, award-winning writer and conference speaker, he has covered key issues stemming from the Securities and Exchange Commission, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Department of Labor, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, NCUA, banking agencies, Capitol Hill, NASAA and other regulators.  He has developed and created a number of new publications and online databases serving the needs of financial industry professionals.
